A Gotham Fairytale
“A Gotham Fairytale” is an original Batman story comprised of over 200 black and white illustrations set to the rock anthem “Knights of Cydonia” by British band Muse. In its 6:33 min run time the story takes a dark journey inside a little girl’s interpretation of her grandmother’s fairytale about a brave knight who rescues a princess from the clutches of an evil monster.
A Smallville Man
“A Smallville Man” features an original Superman story set against the song “Walk” by American Rock band Foo Fighters. It explores the relationship between Clark Kent’s past and Superman’s present through separate stories that take us from the jungles of South America to the quaint streets of Clark Kent’s hometown of Smallville. The two story lines ultimately converge visually and thematically to show that the “S” on his chest represents more than just the power of his alien abilities.
“The Dream” is an original interpretation of the iconic Batman origin story told over 1 minute against the aural backdrop of Muse’s “Prelude.” The sequence depicts the death of young Bruce Wayne’s parents as a chaotic interplay of memory and distortion through the combination of watercolor-inspired art direction and a classical music-inspired score.
